Frigid cold weather for the penguins
The thermometer registered a frosty 10 degrees on Thursday, Jan. 1, at noon for the 33rd annual Penguin Plunge at Mackerel Cove. However, the wind chill made it feel like minus 7 degrees. About two hundred hardy souls braved the chilly temperatures for their New Year's dip in the bay. Proceeds from the event benefit the Special Olympics.
